Completion Date: January, 2009
Project Type: website
In the Wild: Visit the current website

Project Description:
I purchased the WWIIMedic.com domain several years prior to creating this version of the website. At the time I created a static website to display a few items. Due to a carefully developed search engine optimization strategy, that small static site ranked well and brought in a moderate, but sustained flow of traffic.

A few years later I decided that the spectacular domain name coupled with old organic traffic would make a perfect venue for a personal blog and website.

The design needed to sit somewhere between old and modern to reflect the history as well as the audience. In the end the design is a combination between the “grunge” look and the more clean lines of the sidebar and tag cloud. With the exception of the pinup girl, every element has contextual meaning for the blog.
