Comcast. Blows.

I just want to point out that Comcast (broadband) is crap. And, while I realize that there are plenty of other people that might have the same thing to say, I want to share my little list of reasons why:

  • In many areas they are your only option for high speed internet.
  • As a result of the above, they feel the need to charge an arm + leg.
  • They built their networks on public infrastructure, but give nothing back.
  • Their rates are high for sometimes intermittent or slow service
  • Much of your money does not go to service or infrastrucutre, it goes to advertising.
  • As a result of the above, your mailbox is packed with ads… all the time. NO, I do NOT want your phone service!
  • Bandwidth throttling without telling people is evil.
  • They charge you to pay your bill in certain ways.
  • And most of all…. my upload speeds are awful! Including right now, when I’m trying to upload some new plugins… we’re talking 1.5Mb timing out. Gah

If I had a choice, I would be with a different evil company to get broadband internet. How I wish I lived in some socialized european country that has free, state-run, blazing fast broadband at every house.

Did you forget to sign-in or did you want to register?. If you're just stopping by, that's okay too.
